Dimpy Menon graduated top of the class from the College of Art, Chennai in 1986. Dimpy has shown extensively & successfully in both India & abroad. She has received the Tamil Nadu State Award for Sculpture & Drawing. Dimpy is twice winner of Lalit Kala State Award. She has had over 50 solo shows, both one woman as well as in groups with prestigious galleries within the country & abroad. Dimpy’s works are in prominent public & private collections. The sculptor reveals, “I have always enjoyed the body in motion – a posture captured in a fraction of a movement. How much can my body’s energy be translated into my work? This is symbolic of the effort I put in, and hence the thrill.”The sheen of the bronze and the texture of the granite ensure they play off each other beautifully.The human body is my medium and metaphor.”The sculptor lives & works in Bangalore.
