Krishnendu Porel was Born in 1965. He studied Drawing & Paintings at College of Visual Arts, Kolkata (1984 -86). Passed B.V.A from Govt. College of Art & Craft (Calcutta University) in 1991 with first class 1st (Gold medalist). Passed M.F.A. from Benaras Hindu University (B.H.U.) in 1994 with First class 2nd (Silver medalist). Received Junior Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in 1994. Went to Germany in 1999 for higher study in drawing & painting, studied at Kunstseminer, Metzingen, Germany. Invited artist in residency at Atelier Haid, Germany.
Krishnendu have participated in many prestigious & important group shows in India & abroad & had 16 solo shows including a solo at Heilsoff Museum, Germany.
