Paresh Maity born in 1965, in the historical town of Tamluk, West Bengal. The artist did his BFA from Government College of Arts & Crafts, Kolkata and MFA from Delhi College of Art.
“I feel that my work reflects my attitude & my approach to life. Just as I do not like the harsh side of life, my paintings too have no harshness. I like to look for mysterious notions, for lyrical quality & a touch of the poetic”.
The artist’s passion for colour & line, “I create everything with colouring & lines”, has unsurprisingly made him the master of colours.
Paresh Maity has participated in prestigious Art Fairs. His paintings, sculptures & sculptural installations have got him numerous accolades. The artist has participated in various solo exhibitions & group shows in India & globally. Paresh Maity is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards, the Award by Royal Watercolour Society London, Hall of Fame in Mumbai, Shera Bangali Award, Kolkata, Dayawati Modi Foundation Award, New Delhi, to name a few. In 2014, he was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India, one of the highest civilian award in the country.
